Dr. Rangnayaki’s Guidelines

OnTuesday, October 10, 2006 at 2.30 PM, we had a meeting with Dr. Rangnayaki Shrinivas.

Dr. Rangnayaki explained:

- What is a blog?

- Why to create a blog?

- How to create a blog?

- Which are the blogging platforms?
- What to do after having one’s own blog?

- How to make profit from blogs?

- What is Google AdSense?

- What is the criteria for applying for Google AdSense?

- How to earn through AdSense?

She also gave her email ID and forum address www.want2learn.com to the group coordinators so that they can contact her whenever they need herHELP.

Dr. Rangnayaki asked me (tarun patel) to solve the queries of all group coordinators, as and when required.

H M Patel Institute of English Starts a Social Networking Project

H M Patel Institute of English, V. V. Nagar, Gujarat, India has started a Social Networking Project to improve English communication skills of its Post Graduate students.

The students will create their own blogs, network with other students, visit and comment on each others’ posts and thereby develop the skills of personal communication, critical appreciation and real life interaction.

Students will be divided into groups and student coordinators will be assigned the responsibilities of working with and guiding individual students. The faculty of the institute will work closely with the coordinators and develop their skills in helping other students who are marked to work under the coordinators.

Objectives

The objectives of the project are:

1. Improve communication skills

2. Get exposure to Internet and Virtual Learning

3. Develop real life professional skills to earn while they learn

Schedule 2006

The time-line of the project is as follows:

1. Presentation in Class with LCD Projector, Planning with Coordinators, & Group Work in Class – Oct 9-14

2. Diwali Break, work-at-home assignments, online submissions, feedback from coordinators – Oct 25 to Nov 7

3. Attending intensive computer sessions, Preparing / visiting blogs, commenting and enriching blogs – Nov 13-25

4. Project Presentation in Class with LCD Projector, feedback from class for improvement, final submission – December
